In the mornings, I need a bit of help to get ready for the day, and I have someone who comes to assist me.
The caregivers come to my apartment and lay out my clothes and help me get dressed. After Im done getting ready, I head down to breakfast on my own, and I always make it a point to stop by the concierge desk and pick up the activity schedule for the day. Bingo is my go-to and everyone claims that Im lucky because I win quite often!
I love music, so I joined the American House choir. We meet twice a month and travel to perform at local schools, senior centers, VA hospitals and other places in the surrounding community.
I always keep an eye out for when we have live musical entertainment coming to my home too. Fridays are my favorite! We have happy hour and theres usually a musician there.

I didn’t care for the community during the tour, due to it being to chaotic. This wasn’t the right place for my loved one.
I would recommend them to other people. It’s a nice place. My mother likes it here, which is what matters. She has met a lot of people, and everybody seems to be pretty friendly for the most part . The care is pretty good, although they seem to have some turnover with the nursing staff and the aides. I think that is going on system-wide with other facilities too. The food is a little bland for her taste, but she’s learned that she can ask for gravy and things like that. She enjoys playing Bingo but just wishes there were more activities, and that activity time would be used for activities, and not to sell a group trip they’re trying to organize.
I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. The people here are friendly, and it seems like a good place.The food is very good for the residents. The community is able to assist with physical therapy, and medication management for my loved one. They provide the residents with a call button necklace they can push for assistance.
