Assisted Living Center Planned Near Fort Collins Hotel Foothills Mall
A Denver developer plans to turn nearly 4 acres of undeveloped land at the corner of Monroe Drive and Stanford Road into an assisted living and memory care facility.
The project is currently designed for 24 memory care units and 113 assisted living/independent living units just east of the Marriott Fort Collins with whom it would share an overflow parking lot. The facility expects to employ about 15 staff on a typical shift.
Developer Matt Oermann of Cherrywood Pointe Investment LLC won approval from the Fort Collins Planning and Zoning Board in late May. The company has completed six locations in the Minneapolis metro area and one in Littleton.
Oermann, who has a contract to buy the site from Arena LLC, a limited liability company registered in Fort Collins, said he hopes to break ground early next year and be open 18 months later.
The four-story project is across Stanford Road from Village Cooperative, a housing cooperative for active adults age 62 and older, and across Monroe Drive from the four-story Cycle Apartments and Foothills shopping center.
Proximity to Foothills and surrounding retail was a factor in their interest in the site, Oermann said.
We want our residents to not only enjoy their later years, but to thrive,” Oermann said. “Providing them with ample activities is an important part of that. That includes using our onsite shuttle services to take groups around the area to the enjoy the local retail offerings.
