Kimberly Krohn Md Our Wounds Specialist:
I love being a family physician, and love being a family physician educator. I am fascinated with the science of continuity and comprehensiveness of care for individuals and the process of medical education. I am a great supporter of residents interested in not only achieving excellence in their medical skills but in developing their leadership skills as well. I have dreams of improving physician efficiency in clinical practice.
My undergraduate training was in dietetics which provided an excellent foundation for my interest in the science of chronic disease management, something we do a lot of in family medicine. I am committed to being the doctor for my patients from before birth to death, whether they are being treated in the clinic, hospital, a long-term care facility, or at their home.
Personally, my husband and I have three adult sons who live dispersed across the US. I love to travel, entertain, and explore different cuisines. I like fitness activities like bike riding and downhill skiing, herb gardening, and attending musical theater. I have really enjoyed getting to know all that Wichita and Kansas as a whole have to offer.

What are people saying about assisted living facilities in Wichita, KS?
This is a review for assisted living facilities in Wichita, KS:
Lost my grandmother a few days ago on my birthday. She unfortunately passed of Alzheimers disease. She was housed at the memory care unit of this living center where everyone had a level of Alzheimers and was able to meet everyone every day all over again. Lol. The nurses and care takers and employees at Avita are angels. Everyone was soooo kind through the years of us visiting and watching her deteriorate. There are no words to thank you all for taking care of someone soooo special to us when we were unable to. I highly recommend this facility.

Does My Loved One Qualify For Assisted Living
While we cannot provide a strict yes or no answer, because we are not qualified medical professionals who can properly assess your loved ones condition, we can provide some guidelines for your consideration. If your loved one can function fairly well on his or her own, requiring only basic assistance with daily activities and medication management, then he or she is likely a candidate for assisted living.
If your loved one has a serious medical condition that requires constant medical monitoring and support, then it is likely that he or she will not be an ideal candidate for assisted living care, and instead, nursing home care could be the better answer. Nursing home facilities provide skilled medical care at a level much higher than youd see in an assisted living – in fact, it is the highest level of care your loved one can receive without being admitted to the hospital.
The decision about which facility to place your parent or grandparent in should not be made hastily. Take your time to research and review information available about the facilities in your area. Contact the ones you are interested in to learn more about the costs associated with it, the services provided, and to schedule a tour of the facility. Observe both the staff and the residents when you tour, also taking into consideration the appearance and condition of the community itself.

Assisted Living Vs Other Types Of Long
Assisted living is popular, but it isn’t the only type of long-term care available for those who need it. In Wichita, Kansas, families can find a variety of senior living communities that provide varying levels of care, tailored to their residents’ needs.
If a person needs ongoing help with their activities of daily living, an assisted living community may be the right choice for long-term care. However, some individuals want the benefits of community-based living but do not require daily assistance with eating, dressing, bathing, or other activities. In these cases, independent living may be a more appropriate choice for retirement.
Independent and assisted living or similar, each offering a variety of social activities, Transportation, on-site meals, home-like apartments, and around-the-clock emergency assistance.
However, independent living communities do not provide the same daily level of care is assisted living, making them a suitable choice for those who are largely self-sufficient. By moving into an independent living community, a person or family can enjoy the benefits of community-based living, even if they do not require the assistance of another person to complete basic tasks.
