FamilyAssets Reviews for Regency At Grand Blanc
We have 4 review for this provider.
My dad was there for one week. We found the building itself was clean and neat, the food was acceptable and most of the staff was friendly. On the negative side, my dad was awakened at 3 and 4 in the morning for his daily bath. Yes, his personal care was done in the middle of the night. I complained and asked them not to do that but they said they had to because first shift was too busy for the staff to do it all. Also, several of his shirts were stolen.
Regency is ill-equipped to handle health care details associated with the rehabilitation of patients. Their attentiveness to crucial life functioning details is poor.

Reviews For Grand Blanc Fields
The facility itself is beautiful and well maintained. I do really like the staff that have been here since we moved in, but there has been quite a bit of turnover. There are some services that I have some concerns with though as far as the care. The doors are locked and it is a safe facility, but it is very hard for family members to get in. A lot of times I have to stand and wait 15 minutes jut to get buzzed in. I have only seen a few activities going on, I do think they could provide more for the residents. I think a lot was promised in beginning that has not been followed through with.
If you are planning on visiting your loved one frequently, by all means. They are struggling to have staff, like other places. The staff that work here, are all wonderful, caring, and kind to the residents. It seems that some staff are working double shifts, and the owner will even come in to help cover shifts. My loved one had a very nice room for a good price.
For what is paid it is not bad at all. It is not small but its not large but it is just right for what I feel assisted living should be. They do not have activities at this time right now due to covid.

Memory Care is a long-term residential care option in senior housing that provides specialized, around-the-clock care to older adults living with all types of dementia. Memory Care, also referred to as Alzheimers Care or Dementia Care, may become necessary once cognitive disorders reach a stage that makes living at home or receiving care at home too difficult. Its common to find a Memory Care unit within an Assisted Living community, often in a specialized building or neighborhood. Memory Care housing may also be found in a Continuing Care Retirement Community, a Skilled Nursing Facility, Nursing Home or as a standalone entity or community.
Dementia vs Alzheimers
Dementia is a broad term applied to a group of symptoms related to a decline in mental function that is severe enough to interfere with daily living. Huntingtons disease, Parkinsons disease and traumatic brain injuries are all linked to dementia. Alzheimers is a specific brain disorder, and the most common form of dementia, that destroys memory and cognitive skills over time. Both dementia and Alzheimers may result in memory loss, mood swings, speech impairment, confusion/hallucinations and incontinence.
