With the coming of Spring, we begin to see the greening of lawns, the blooming of flowers, budding of leaves and the sunny, warm, longer days ahead. But, given the awaited climate change, this summer might not offer some of the more traditional activities at familiar prices, and therefore might require some unanticipated adjustments. We are aware of that unpleasant, and realistic word, Inflation and how it has changed much of what we normally do. Many of these summer activities will now cost more, because just about everything has been affected and costs more. We know that whether dining out or dining in surely have increased costs. Now familiar gatherings for barbecues have additional costs. Traveling anywhere requiring fuel will surely tap the wallet and pocketbook as never before. Trying To Move On By Stephen Dick

Please note I titled this article as Trying To Move On. Because isnt that what most of us are trying to do? Especially we Seniors. We have entered a year of Whats Next? Obviously, we are now living in a time of the un-known. We recognize that we are amid some particularly challenging times, and as seniors we have the ability and wisdom to get through it. Some of these greater challenges are from the Covid-19 pandemic, the cost of Inflation, Energy, Our Open Borders, Immigration, and the World We Live in Today. Unfortunately, I have no Crystal Ball. Therefore, I have no answers. What I do have is belief that we will successfully address these challenges and any additional concerns that are sure to occur. We know that we are fortunate to be living in a free society and should be able to move on no matter what issues we face. And remember if we do not like the decisions that have been made by our current leaders, we can make changes, its called voting in November. Lets get back to moving on with our lives. At 3:20 PM on September 21, we said good-bye to Summer and hello to Fall. Now I know that not everyone is excited about the change of seasons, especially knowing that the sunny and mild weather days are exiting only to be replaced by cooler, possibly wet days ahead. And we all know what follows the Fall. UGH! Okay, lets get real. Although we cannot do anything about the weather other than move to a different climate, which many Seniors do as we get closer to the Winter months. So, you may have to put down that tennis racket, store the golf clubs, dock the boat, eliminate trips to the beach, and reduce the number of outdoor barbecues, in other words give up some of the traditional popular outdoor activities. But hold on, lets not sell the Fall season short. As the weather begins to provide a chill there are some beautiful vibrant and crisp days ahead in the Fall.
