Colonial Assisted Living Undergoing $8 Million Expansion Project

We treat residents like our family, said Jessica Pritchett Beaven, director of marketing for Colonial. Thats what Colonial kind of is its a big family. We take these people in and their concerned about change. Im told so often by residents that theyve lived in their homes for 25 years and thats where their memories are. But when they come here and live for just a short time, theyll be out with their family and say Im ready to go home. But they arent talking about their old home. Theyll be talking about Colonial.

In late October, Colonial decided to expand their home to a second location. With an increasing demand for assisted living and a continually growing four-year waiting list, Colonial decided to create an approximately $8 million assisted living facility on Adams Lane in Henderson. Construction is estimated to be completed by the end of November.

What weve seen over the last 16 years is the need for senior living has grown, said Beaven. People are aging and family members are having to work more to keep up with bills and so forth. But they want their aging relative to live somewhere and be safe. So the concept of senior living is becoming more common. Weve seen a need to expand in this community. We want people to get good care and be taken care of.

Another difference from the original Colonial facility will be an old fashioned ice cream parlor.

A continental breakfast will be served at 7:30 a.m. and a program will begin at 8 a.m. at Colonial Assisted Living, located at 6575 Adams Lane in Henderson.

Colonial Senior Living is a very nice and attractive facility. It is newer and was super clean. The staff were all extremely friendly and were open with communication even after the tour telling us to call them if we needed anything. Unfortunately my loved one was not eligible for the apartments here and the rooms were too small for what she wanted.
