The 2020 Census revealed 16.4% of its residents are aged 65 and older, which is about average for the country. The citys senior-friendly climate is partly responsible for its reputation as a great place for lovers of the outdoors. There are other reasons, such as the numerous parks suitable for casual walking, hiking and picnicking, while its three lakes and two rivers provide ample opportunities for boating and swimming.
Assisted living facilities can be a good solution for seniors struggling to cope with common tasks because they help residents remain semi-independent. Seniors get the level of support they need and want, such as personal grooming assistance, and are otherwise free to enjoy their time as they wish. Average fees in Mesa are $3,975 per month, which is a little below the norm for Arizona.

Where do I begin , was the one who got everything taken care of when I was anxious about my husband coming there, she made it easier and less stressful for me because where he was staying was a complete nightmare. The staff was very professional , who is with Blue Sky was taking very good care of him, she made sure all of his needs were met as far as helping with getting hospital bed, shower chair etc . I have absolutely no complaints about the staff working there, caregivers were awesome. I came every weekend, the place was clean, and his bedroom was big enough for 2 beds, his roommate was pleasant, and they have a very large dining room, and a big size kitchen , an area to go outside and sit in the sun.Best news to share my husband is home now, after being there for awhile I could have never done this without their help and support!!!!Renaye SandagataPhoenix AZ… Read more

My mother was in memory care. Never saw the nurse of house 8 interact with residents. Was missing or staring at the computer. My mother could not feed herself but they just put food in front of her. We had to go in everyday and feed her just so she would have 1 meal a day. They hardly ever checked on her. She was always dirty or smelly. Rooms were always unkempt. They lost her bedding , clothes, walker, wheelchair and never could find her shoes..We complained several times, said they would improve. Then she started having scratches, bruises and rug burns on her. The last straw was her wrist was broken for 2 days before they told us. We took her to the hospital and Dr recommended we don’t take her back. So we took her home and immediately started looking for a better place. My poor mom. They do not have the staff or proper medical knowledge to take care of Alz/Dementia patients.
My father was in memory care and they were quite understaffed. 1 evening it took 55 min to find someone who could give him his nitroglycerine tablet for chest pain. There was much more that bothered me and constituted sub-par care. He was approved for ALTHS to cover oct and forward. We paid full amount oct thru Jan. Unfortunately he passed in Jan. To date there has been no reimbursement and no return calls to the 10 messages I have left. This is definitely a for-profit business 1st and foremost.
